Rival Daily News stopped the presses to swap front page on recent police killings to one on Thursday's killing of police.
The attack killed five police officers and injured seven others as well as two civilians.
"We are all hurting tonight,” James said. “More violence is not the answer.”
Both released statements on the deaths of five officers in the Dallas shooting.

Lynn Mays says a police officer pushed him out of harm’s way just as the shooting started.
Michael Kevin Bautista streamed footage of the shootout with police.
