Trump said United Auto Workers union dues are too high now that a major GM plant is closing on his watch.
When cuts were first announced last year President Trump called them "disappointing."
In a poll taken after the news of the GM layoffs, 44 percent said the president has or will bring back blue-collar jobs.
"Youâre such a fool, Trump. Youâve been played again by these people whoâve never liked you."
WHAT'S HAPPENING
General Motors announced it will cut more than 14,000 jobs and shutter seven factories.
Even some of America's best engineering couldn't save it.
GMsâ decision to cut jobs in Ohio is particularly embarrassing for Trump, as he repeatedly promised to bring jobs back.
The New York tabloid took aim at Trump after General Motors revealed it would be cutting thousands of U.S. jobs.
Last year, the president said people in Ohio shouldn't sell their houses because the jobs were coming back.
