Turkish police carried out a controlled explosion of a bag left in Istanbul's popular Taksim square after the U.S. embassy warned of "credible threats" to tourist areas.
The match was postponed "due to the assessment of serious intelligence obtained and in line with demand and consensus of the football clubs".
It was the fourth suicide attack in Turkey this year.
Protests began after authorities seized control of the country's biggest newspaper.
Even though they're ignored and circumvented, the media blackouts still serve a purpose.
The bomber was a member of the self-described Islamic State and was thought to have come recently from Syria.
"This attack will kill tourism here," one tour guide said.
The stalls are a perfect mixture of old and new, east and west -- just like Istanbul.
