The conservative magazine published its editorial after another instance of McConnell briefly growing rigid and unresponsive in public.
“We need to know they’re at the top of their game,” Haley told Fox News. “You can’t say that right now looking at Congress.”
The evaluation, released by McConnell's office after his freeze-up this week, isn't likely to squelch speculation about his future as GOP leader in the Senate.
This is the second time in recent months that the Senate minority leader has appeared to freeze in front of reporters.
The Senate minority leader appeared unable to speak with reporters in Kentucky, just a month after a similarly scary episode on Capitol Hill.
At the breakfast event Saturday, McConnell did not delve into national issues or comment on former President Donald Trump’s legal entanglements.
“We’ve got to stop electing people because we like them and they’ve been there a long time," the 2024 GOP presidential candidate said.
