Lafayette General Medical Center had been the recipient of a similar gesture following a movie theater shooting in July.
"I Am UCC" isn't just a response to the tragedy. It's the heart of the town.
"It's my son's birthday today," the 30-year-old told the shooter.
“In our sorrow, we will remember and honor those lost today ... And they will forever be in our hearts."
