Wednesday, June 26, was "Decision Day," and what a day it was! As they did for most gay Americans, the Supreme Court rulings on DOMA and Prop 8 put me in the mood to party. So I stopped by the historic Stonewall Inn to pay my respects to those who paved the way for gay equality, and then I headed downtown to the fourth annual Barefoot Wine Pride Kickoff Party! It's always a fun party and a great way to kickstart Pride weekend. There were lots of pretty people mixed with some downtown denizens and celebrities like Gerald McCullouch of CSI and BearCity. RuPaul's Drag Race star Manila Luzon held court and thrilled partygoers by socializing and posing for pictures with her many fans both in the VIP lounge and on the main floor. Manila was joined by fellow entertainer Ivy Levan, whose vocal performance of her new single "Hot Damn" brought the house down! A good time was had by all.
