During Fashion Week great design is everywhere in NYC. Michael Alan Stein showed his S/S 2015 women's ready-to-wear collection downtown at the Broad Street Ballroom. His collection featured sculptural dresses and pants for day in Mondrian-inspired color blocks in viscose from Belgian manufacturer, TISS ET TEINT. Michael shares:
My inspiration is the modern American woman. She leads a multi functional life and the clothing she wears should reflect that. Some of my dresses are appropriate for work and with a quick change of accessories, she's ready for dinner or the theatre. Above all, women tell me that they are comfortable and that they don't have to "think" too much about how to wear them. The silhouettes' precision cuts are modern and streamlined, and in many respects, timeless, yet right on trend.
His entire 24-piece line of Michael Alan Stein Style is represented at Downtown Showroom.
The collection was presented by Emerge NYC in a showcase featuring six emerging designers. Stylish notables in attendance were America's Top Model judge Jay Alexander, Tony-award-winning producer Stephen C. Byrd, interior designer Shelia Bridges and legendary model and entrepreneur Beverly Johnson.
