Instead of skipping around the May pole, celebrate May Day at Blu Jam Café, where chef/owner/sommelier Kamil Majer is dedicating dinner service to all things French. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., his five-course prix-fixe wine-paired menu ($65 per person) will feature salade d'endives with Chateau Val Joanis Roussanne Luberon 2009 Rhone; potato and leek soup with Domaine William Fevre Chablis, 2009; risotto with bacon, cream, garlic greens and topped with fresh poached egg with Delas Cote du Rhone 2009; steak au poivre with De Macard Bordeaux 2009; and crêpes à la banane et noisette-chocolat with Doisy-Vedrines Sauternes 2003 (7371 Melrose Ave.; 323-951-9191).

Wednesday

Chow down at KTownChowTown, a gourmet food truck event that goes down every Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. in Korea Town. The Grilled Cheese Truck, Naan Stop, Rebel Bite and Lee's Philly are among some of the trucks you'll find here, depending on the week. Check out their Twitter feed for exact event details (2793 W. Thursday

Spice things up at Border Grill's Spicy Chile Dinner: five courses, four chiles, three tequilas, two tamales and one spicy chef. Monique King, winner or Food Network's Chef Hunter will be cooking this spicy tequila-laced feast featuring dishes like slow-roasted lamb pibil and caramelized brussels sprouts. Saturday

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Rick Bayless' Red O with a special Street Food Social Hour from 3-6 PM on Saturday, May 5th. Available in the restaurant's stunning tequila lounge and beautiful outdoor patio, guests are invited to a delicious fiesta by enjoying a selection of specially priced items from Bayless' California-inspired Mexican menu. For a festive toast to the holiday, Red O will also be serving a variety of their specialty margaritas and cocktails for $8, as well as a selection of wines for $7 and craft beers for $5. For those who would like to continue the festivities in to the night, the restaurant's dinner service begins at 6 p.m., and guests can make reservations by calling 323-655-5009.

Sunday

The annual Taste of the Eastside food fest goes down today from 1-5 p.m. at Barnsdall Art Park in Los Feliz. Enjoy bites from over 30 local restaurants including Hugo's Tacos, Malo and Guisados.
