WHAT'S HAPPENING
The health secretary has been promoting vitamin A and other unproven treatments for a disease that is highly preventable with a vaccine.
Nearly 900 cases of measles have been reported nationwide this year.
"We live in a democracy," the health secretary said when asked for his advice to new parents.
Of those infected across the U.S., 97% of cases came from those who are unvaccinated or whose vaccination status is unknown.
