"This is how far down we’ve gone," the comedian told MSNBC's Chris Matthews.
While some have outright called the Iowa representative's white supremacy remarks racist, others hesitated.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
The Des Moines Register's editorial board said the Republican's overt racism has made Iowa "a laughing stock on the national stage."
Republicans are finally decrying the Iowa congressman's racism. They should look at the president, too.
Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-N.Y.) said King should be expelled not only because he's racist but also because he cannot now adequately represent his constituents.
Meanwhile, there are two pending measures in the House to censure the representative from Iowa.
The network later revised its guidance: "It is fair to characterize King's comments as 'racist.'"
The news organization issued further guidance Tuesday afternoon, saying that it was, in fact, fair to describe King's comments that way.
